Help Wanted: Education Coordinator, Epsom, NH - Full Time

Reports to: Executive Director
Nonexempt, Full time, Not Temporary

Salary: $50,753 - $62,420 annually ($24.40 - $30.01 per hour)

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  1. Education & Events 
    • Respond to questions from members and the public regarding NH Recycles educational resources and events  
       
    • Present recycling education at a variety of NH Recycles and external events
        
    • Coordinate and attend NH Recycles events, including the Recycling Conference & Expo, annual meeting, bus tour and other events  
       
    • Communicate with conference speakers, prepare workshop schedule and coordinate with photographer  
       
    • Prepare post-event surveys and analyze and share data internally from same  
       
    • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and signage for NH Recycles events 
  2. Communications  
    • Lead the generation of online content, including social media posts, videos and news items on website, that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action 
       
    • Coordinate website maintenance, including ensuring that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly 
       
    • Track and measure the level of engagement with constituents over time  
       
    • Manage and maintain NH Recycles’ email distribution platform  
       
    • Manage development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, annual report, email newsletters and website 
  3. NH the Beautiful Program Administration 
    • Administer NHtB programs, including sign orders, recycling equipment grant requests, RecycleMobile reservations, Litter Free Blue Bags and recycling bin orders 
       
    • Order new inventory as needed  
       
    • Track all NHtB program activity in database  
       
    • Report to Member Services Director and/or NHtB contact to resolve any program issues 
       
    • Attend quarterly NHtB Board meetings and answer any related questions from the board 
  4. Grant Writing & Reporting  
    • Assist the Executive Director with grant writing and management, including writing grant proposals and grant reports  
       
    • Work closely with program and administrative staff to gather data for proposals and reporting 
       
    • Track deadlines for grant proposals and grant reports and develop internal timelines to ensure timely submission 
  5. General Administrative 
    • Learn and use new software programs, tools and resources as necessary to assist with completing tasks efficiently

  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships and open lines of communication with Members, Vendors and other staff members 
  • Communicate with others in a positive manner with respect for differing opinions and openness to new ideas

  • Take initiative to solve problems and identify potentially more efficient methods of operation 


Contributions/Outcomes: 

  • Raise the profile of NH Recycles as an authority on recycling in New England  
  • Increase engagement and education of members, vendors, funders and the public  
  • Ensure NH Recycles’ communications and branding are consistent, professional and engaging  


Qualifications and Skills Required: 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities 
  • Experience with designing website content, electronic newsletters and social media content  
  • Ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels  
  • Self-starter and highly collaborative 
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and giving presentations  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of various backgrounds and interests 
  • Reliable, with excellent attention to detail and organization 
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly and problem solve in a fast-paced environment  
  • Positive attitude and willingness to accept a challenge 
  • Interest in the mission of the organization 


 Qualifications and Skills Preferred: 

  • Salesforce and general database experience  
  • Microsoft Teams experience 
  • Grant writing experience  


Working Conditions: 

The position includes primarily office work. Environmentally conscious office culture within 15 minutes of downtown Concord, New Hampshire. Weekend or evening work is required occasionally, typically not more than a few times per year. Travel and overnight stay may be required for some events, typically not more than a few times per year.  


Physical Requirements: 

Ability to work at a desk and computer station for extended periods of time. Light lifting may be required on occasion.
