About NH Recycles

Our Mission

Partnering to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions.

NH Recycles (formerly the Northeast Resource Recovery Association) is the oldest and largest cooperative-model recycling nonprofit in the United States. Founded in 1981, the organization partners with nearly 400 municipalities across New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts to strengthen recycling through economically and environmentally sound solutions.

NH Recycles supports small, rural communities and is one of only a handful of nonprofits nationwide that enables communities to manage their own recycling programs by connecting them directly with end markets for recyclables. We share our expertise through cooperative marketing, technical assistance, and education.

Our Organizational Values

Organizational values are the guiding principles for which we stand. These organizational values were developed by NH Recycles staff to act as a North Star to help us make decisions – hiring, program expansion, and day-to-day decisions. These values are integral to how our work is carried out and are also boundaries by which NH Recycles is not willing to compromise. Organizational values apply to all areas of the organization and to all employees.
