This year, NH Recycles proudly celebrates Lindsay Dow’s 10-year anniversary with the organization—a milestone that reflects not just longevity, but deep commitment, care, and impact.
As NH Recycles’ Administrative Specialist, Lindsay is often the quiet force behind the scenes making sure things run smoothly. From coordinating regularly scheduled loads to managing logistics across multiple vendors and municipalities, Lindsay saves time, solves problems, and ensures members get what they need—when they need it. Her work requires organization, communication, and follow-through, and she handles it all with patience, clarity, and calm.
Colleagues consistently describe Lindsay as someone who thinks ahead and puts others first. Whether it’s flagging an upcoming holiday closure, anticipating a member’s needs before they ask, or helping coworkers navigate new systems and processes, Lindsay approaches her work proactively and thoughtfully. She is always willing to jump in, train others, and support the team—never rushing, always listening.
Beyond her technical skills, what truly sets Lindsay apart is how much she cares.
“She’s a delight,” one coworker shared. Another described her as thoughtful, considerate, generous, dedicated, and deeply caring—qualities that extend well beyond the workplace. Lindsay’s kindness shows up in countless small but meaningful ways: handmade gifts, shared traditions, and genuine connections with the people around her. These gestures reflect the same care and intention she brings to her work every day.
One memory that still brings smiles—and that Lindsay herself looks back on fondly—is the time she dressed up as Kermit the Frog for an NH Recycles conference. The costume quickly became a fan favorite, with attendees and board members trying to guess who was inside. It was hot, a little chaotic, and undeniably fun, and it perfectly captured Lindsay’s willingness to jump in, be a good sport, and help create a welcoming, lighthearted atmosphere. Moments like these remind us that Lindsay doesn’t just keep things running smoothly—she helps make NH Recycles a place people genuinely enjoy being part of.
Lindsay’s connection to NH Recycles runs even deeper. She began volunteering with the organization as a child, helping with labeling and assembly long before today’s automated systems existed. Growing up around the organization, she developed a strong work ethic and a lasting appreciation for the mission. Today, that early connection has grown into a professional role she carries with pride.
“I’m very proud to work for New Hampshire Recycles,” Lindsay shared. “It’s an honor to work here, especially knowing how long my family has been connected to the organization. I love the work that we do, and I’m very grateful for it.”
One of Lindsay’s closest collaborators reflected on her impact this way:
“Lindsay welcomed me with open arms nearly six years ago and took me under her wing. She trained me on so much that I still rely on today. She is patient, kind, and always focused on making sure everyone around her—family, coworkers, members—is taken care of. There are so many municipalities that are fortunate to have Lindsay managing their logistical needs. It takes an incredible amount of organization and follow-up, and she is sincerely happy to be doing it.”
NH Recycles Hall of Fame Inductee
In recognition of her decade of service, Lindsay Dow is officially being inducted into the NH Recycles Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honors board members, staff members, and volunteers who have dedicated ten or more years of service to NH Recycles and its mission of partnering to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions. The first cohort of Hall of Fame inductees was admitted in 2011, and since then, the Hall of Fame has recognized individuals whose long-term commitment has helped shape and sustain the organization.
Lindsay’s induction is a reflection not only of her years of service, but of the care, consistency, and professionalism she brings to NH Recycles every day. Her work touches hundreds of municipalities and vendors, supports her coworkers in countless ways, and strengthens the cooperative model that makes NH Recycles unique.
At 10 years—and now as a member of the NH Recycles Hall of Fame—NH Recycles is incredibly fortunate to have Lindsay Dow as part of its community. Thank you, Lindsay, for your dedication, your kindness, and for being such an essential part of our work and our mission.
