This position works under the direction of the Manager of the Candia Recycling Center. Day-to-day work includes helping residents with disposal of their solid waste and recyclables, as well as operating and maintaining the equipment used at the facility.
Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, be able to work in all weather conditions and have the ability to physically assist residents. This may occasionally involve lifting items that weigh up to 70 lbs.
Generally, the job is performed outdoors in the field or in an unheated facility. There may be some loud noise levels and exposure to hazardous conditions associated with operating heavy equipment.
Hours are variable and fluctuate with the season but will generally be 5 days or 40 hours per week. Weekend work is required.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. You must be willing to obtain a NHDES Solid Waste Operator's license within 6 months of being hired.
Hourly rate commensurate with experience: $20.89 to $23.97 per hour. There is a 90-day probationary period.
