Overview of the Day
In the morning, you will have the chance to get a special behind-the-scenes tour of the AVRRDD transfer station in Berlin, NH to see what happens when your recyclables leave your individual transfer station and head to a central location to be baled and sent to market. At noon, you'll enjoy a catered lunch while hearing our always-informative Recycling 101 presentation that takes a big-picture look at the issues of waste and recycling in New Hampshire, the nitty-gritty of basic recyclables like aluminum, cardboard, paper, steel, glass, and plastic, and then action steps we can take as individuals and collectively to make a difference in our communities. Finally, bring ALL your recycling questions to our afternoon's Ask Me Anything Q&A panel where experienced transfer station operators will tackle common recycling confusions, serious recycling conundrums, and everything in-between!
A Special Thank You
All conference attendees will receive a recycling bin of their choice - either a small bin with a carrying-handle, or a larger bin to collect a larger number of recyclables (both pictured below) - as well as a $25 gift certificate to a local co-op as a thank you for taking the time to learn more about recycling and waste reduction!
