Membership Dues Update for the 2026 Dues Year

NH Recycles extends its sincere appreciation to all municipal members for their continued support and partnership. Your membership plays a vital role in strengthening recycling programs, connecting communities to markets, and advancing sound recycling solutions throughout New Hampshire and New England.

As part of NH Recycles’ ongoing commitment to maintaining financial stability and delivering high-quality member services, the Board of Trustees has approved an update to membership dues for the 2026 dues year. For most municipal members, the new dues year begins April 1, 2026; for others, it begins July 1, 2026.

How the Decision Was Made

The NH Recycles Board of Trustees Membership Dues Working Group met in June and July 2025 to review the existing dues structure and assess future needs. Following this detailed review, the working group’s recommendation to adjust dues was unanimously supported by the full Board.

New Dues Structure

Effective for the 2026 dues year:

  • Minimum dues: increasing from $125 → $200
  • Maximum dues: increasing from $1,900 → $2,000
  • Per capita rate: increasing from $0.08 → $0.09 per resident

NH Recycles understands that town budgets are tight, and we are proud that our Board has been able to hold dues steady for three years before this modest increase. These adjustments are designed to help sustain NH Recycles’ cooperative programs and services well into the future, ensuring that members continue to benefit from reliable market access, technical assistance, and educational resources.

Why It Matters

For over forty years, NH Recycles (formerly the Northeast Resource Recovery Association) has been the oldest and largest cooperative-model recycling nonprofit in the United States. We partner with more than 450 municipalities, businesses, and individuals throughout New England to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions.

NH Recycles operates one of the few recyclables marketing cooperatives in the country, directly connecting sellers of recyclable commodities with end-market purchasers. This cooperative approach provides small and rural communities with expanded market access, consistent pricing, and the ability to manage their own recycling programs locally.

A Shared Commitment

NH Recycles’ mission remains clear:

Partnering to make recycling strong through economic and environmentally sound solutions.

Your membership helps sustain that mission and ensures that recycling remains viable, transparent, and community-driven across the region.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
