Mattress recycling is important because it keeps large, bulky items out of landfills, where they take up valuable space and can cause handling problems. Nearly 80–90% of a mattress’s materials - like the metal, wood, and foam - can be recycled and used to make new products. This saves natural resources and reduces waste. Recycling also helps prevent illegal dumping, supports local jobs, and can lower disposal costs for towns. By recycling mattresses, communities can keep their environment cleaner and make better use of valuable materials.

On-Site Mattress Dismantling Option:
If you have the time and staff, local transfer stations can dismantle mattress & box springs on site. Wood can be disposed with construction debris (C&D), metal put in with scrap metal, and other fabric or bedding material thrown in with solid waste.
